My 30 Days Commenting Challenge Completed

What I learned.

I challenged myself to start commenting on a minimum of five articles per day for 30 days. That was on the 10th of March.

To my surprise, I managed to complete the challenge except for one day, as I was without any way of going online that day.
It was a journey. While I found it hard to comment on people’s articles engagingly in the first days, I grew at ease by the end of week one.

I learned a lot and got to know many new exciting writers. There were also some things I didn’t reasonably expect.

Views

Firstly, one that I did expect. Views, and not only on my comments but also second-handedly on my articles.
This one astonished me. Before regularly commenting on people’s articles, I averaged 4–5 views per day; people who randomly would view my articles, and that was that.

It is safe to say that this amount grew ten to twenty times in size over the past few weeks. You can easily see the difference in the two pictures below.

Before starting to comment daily.
After starting to comment daily.

If you want to attract viewers, engage other writers, engage, engage, engage!

Followers

This one surprised me. As I started my commenting streak, I had about 45 followers. This more than doubled in size over the past four weeks! I again call this one partly through engaging with other writers and showing them I care AND read their articles. I sometimes dare to call out on something written in the article. A small detail to show them I read the article.

This naturally increases as you write articles, but engaging other writers is how to establish and maintain friendships and good relationships on this platform.

Conclusion

While it is not always easy to find time to comment, it doesn’t take much time to read a few articles and give your honest thoughts.
You help people feel appreciated by letting them know you’ve read their article and found it interesting enough to leave a comment or even give a follow!

This can be the little push a new writer needs to continue writing, so help a fellow writer out.

As for myself, I cemented a new habit, and every day I look forward to reading and giving a thought to other people’s articles, from established writers to new ones starting.

There are already a few writers I have already enclosed into my heart. They write great articles from the heart and are lovely people!

The Sober Vegan Yogi, VRITANT, and Gray Miller.

Be sure to check them out!
